How can you express your feelings through the computer. Some say it's quick and easy and efficient, but I believe it is so cold, with no expression or thought.
Sending someone a note to express your feelings is a polite curtesy. Receiving it is even better. How do you send someone congratulations through the email........that doesn't sound very personal to me, or perhaps a get well wish, by typing it on the screen and entering "enter".
Why have we become so unaware of the world around us. Why have we become so dependent on the mechanics of everything, the technical approach to our daily lives.
No matter how the 'world turns', I will always send a note or a card. With all the different social networks we have become so lax in our manners.
Why not show someone you care, by sending a handwritten note to get your message across.

DREAMS CAN COME TRUE-BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
Dreams can develop into real life situations. They can come close to what you want to actually happen. You have to be determined and give it your full energy to achieve your goal. No one is going to do it for you.
Dreaming while asleep can sometimes seem so real, that we wake up and wonder can this really happen. Sometimes they are so bizarre or scary we say to ourselves, "hope this never happens". The dreams, of course, I am speaking of are the dreams of goals and expectations we would like for ourselves and what we have to do to make them actually come true. We need a reason for a goal, an incentive to achieve it and a determination for it to reach all our expectations. Some of us want certain things and give up easily. Our outlook looks dim and we figure why try. We see other people fail and know that we are going to head in the same direction sooner or later and we will be disappointed and then let down again.
Well, don't you know that trying is the best part. Showing yourself you can get what you want and then the satisfaction of getting it. Even if it is not 100% achieved to your specific standards, you achieved a percentage and are closer than you were before when you were actually just dreaming! You can look at what you have done so far and then pick up where you left off and start again. We only come through this way once in a lifetime. Let's make this lifetime the best ever!

A FRIEND FOREVER
"Friends to the end".....that's what we use to say when we were kids. How great it was to have that special playmate to share your thoughts, secrets and just to be there when you needed them. So many adventures and experiences shared by a friend who was always there when you called. I remember a particular friend who after being together in elementary and high school moved away. We even worked at the same company after attending business school. It was the saddest day of my life.
I had other friends but she and I shared a special bond. I always knew when she was having a bad day and I tried to cheer her up and she also made me laugh when things weren't going right. Especially when I broke up with my first boyfriend......crushed wasn't the word......no one could say anything to me that would help. However, my true friend came through again, encouraging me and giving me hope that things would get better and that someday I would meet that "special someone". I remember when her Dad died, that was so hard on her as she was still in high school. I did all I could do just to cheer her up and help her through that hard time. We cried, laughed histerically and enjoyed each other's company. When she moved away we said we would always be in contact and we did for a while.......but time and places can change people and we eventually did drift apart.
I often think of her on days when things don't seem to be going right and I recall the days of our youth when we hadn't a care in the world. There was no tomorrow, only today. Yes, she was special, but she was right that "special someone" did come into my life and he and I have been married now for over 42years have three beautiful children and three wonderful and adorable grandsons. He is now my special friend, confidant and love of my life, but somehow I wish I still had contact with her so that I could tell her she was right and that I miss her from time to time.
Enjoy your friendships, value them - they are like gold! Keep in contact if you can. Write or call like there is no tomorrow, only today.

PLANTING SEEDS OF LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP
Spring is a beautiful time of the year to get out and prepare the soil and plant the seeds that will bring you the colorful and aromatic flowers into your garden. It is also another time of the year for renewal. To renew our spirit and plant the seeds of love and friendship to help make the world grow into being a better place.
We somehow never take the time to show our feelings or maybe say thanks for something someone has done for us. It just takes a little of our time and a little kindness on our part, but it makes us feel better and makes the people we are with glad to be around us. It does not take much, perhaps a quick "thanks" will do, or a smile to express how you feel. Maybe just being kind or performing a small deed or task on your part to show your appreciation. It does not cost money to care it just takes a little of your time.
Planting the seeds of love and friendship are one of the best things anyone can do. Not only will our gardens be enriched with soil and flowers, but our hearts will be filled with contentment and joy.
I have started my garden this spring.....enriching my soil, that is my family and friends, planting the seeds, that is my love and appreciation of them, enjoying my flowers, that is never taking advantage of them and appreciate what I have. You have every spring to start a new garden and keep it flourishing - Happy Planting!

CALMING THOUGHTS CAN HEAL YOU
Take it from one who has reached their stress level at one time or another, think about calming thoughts to try and get your life together.
By thinking calming thoughts, I become calmer and accept things that we cannot change or have control over in a positive way. I do believe that calming thoughts can heal you.
We often head out to the Tropics to get away from the cold in Connecticut every year. I find the ocean and the warm breeze to be very therapeutic. Just looking out into the ocean gives you a new way to look at things. Everything that bothers you is somehow swept away when watching the waves come in and out.
Another way to calm yourself down is to read. I find myself getting so involved in a book that I forget where I am at times. Walking is great - you get your energy level up and things that are on your mind seem to melt away when briskly walking and if you are really energetic running is ideal, but I would not go that far. Knitting and crocheting are one of the best ways to be calm and relax. You do not think of anything when you are doing needle work, unless of course you drop a stitch or two. This goes for men too, believe it or not.
I am an artist and I find that painting calms me. I get to express my thoughts on canvas or watercolor paper and the colors that I choose seem to soften any anxiety I might have.
So when things are not going your way try to think of the positive and have those calming thoughts.
